Dot Chart

A Dot Chart, also known as a scatter plot (also called a scatterplot, scatter graph, scatter chart, scattergram, or scatter diagram) is a type of plot or mathematical diagram using Cartesian coordinates to display values for typically two variables for a set of data. This plot is useful for highlighting clusters, gaps, and outliers. A measure of the relationship between two variables is called a correlation. If it is possible to draw a nearly straight line between markers on a dot diagram, the correlation between these variables is high; if markers are distributed evenly, then the correlation is low or even equals zero.
