Technical Indicator

Technical Indicators is any class of metrics whose value is derived from generic price activity in a stock or asset. Technical indicators look to predict the future price levels, or the general price direction, of a security by looking at past patterns. Technical Indicators are displayed as lines, bars or areas above, below and on-top-of the price information on a Stock Chart. They represent a mathematical calculation based on price, volume, or (in the case of futures contracts) open interest, used to indicate where the price is going, or whether the price is in an “overbought” condition or an “oversold” condition.
