Nightingale Rose Chart

Nightingale Rose Chart (also known as Coxcomb Chart or Polar Area Diagram) is a peculiar combination of the Radar Chart and Stacked Column Chart types of data visualization. It has the same advantages as the Stacked Column Chart and is helpful when working with cyclic data (months, seasons, etc.).

The Nightingale Rose Chart type became popular after English statistician Florence Nightingale famously used it to visualize data on how many soldiers died in hospitals during the Crimean War.

Nightingale Rose Charts work well for exploring statistical data. Meteorologists utilize them as a graphical tool for illustrating a wind rose.
