Range Step Area Chart

The Range SteplineArea Chart is very similar to the Area Chart. The core difference is that the latter graph is based on plotting Y-axis values one by one whereas the former, the Range SteplineArea Chart, uses two Y-axis values at a time – Low and High. Also in this type of chart, it is the area between the lowest and highest values that is filled with color, not the area between the the X-axis and the series like in Area Charts. Plus, the Range SteplineArea Chart employs fitted curves instead of polygonal curves with straight lines. Such a diagram is typically used to display the difference between the minimum and maximum values over a certain time period, including visualization of data sets for prices, temperatures, and so on.
