This chart type is based on the Step Line Chart and essentially features a color-filled area between the X-axis and the line connecting data points.

A Step Line Area Chart is an Area Chart where the points are connected by horizontal and vertical lines which makes it look like a staircase. It is also used to highlight the irregularity of changes. The area between the X-axis and the line that connects data points is filled with color.
